Accountability to the People
Government by the People
I will give county government back to the people. You collectively and individually are the government. You deserve access to the government and your input should inform governance. As your County Judge, I will never believe and function as though the position is my own. The purpose of the position is to ensureyour prosperity. I don’t seek the office of County Judge to collect a paycheck and call the position “my job”. It is a privilege and a responsibility.
Open Records / Accessible Meetings
I believe that all the citizens should have access to county information except for very limited situations protected by law. County meetings must be held to allow every citizen to attend and to be heard. County records should be accessible to all, not the few centralized elite.
Governing without Bias
I believe those who govern must be responsible and equitable with the power entrusted to them by the people. A county judge cannot engage in cronyism or favoritism. A county judge should also never use the position to seek retribution. As County Judge, I will treat everyone fairly and equally, believing we can all contribute to better the lives of the people of our great county.
Term Limits
Plain and simple, the Founding Fathers of our Country never intended to have career politicians. This isn’t a career for me, it is a position of service. I will submit to self- imposed term limits.
As your County Judge, I promise to

-
Return Local Government to the people by making our County Government accessible and open to the people
-
Make Ellis County government information accessible to the public
-
Govern without bias and listen to all voices in the county
-
Term Limit Myself
A free people [claim] their rights as derived from the laws of nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate.
~ Thomas Jefferson
Limited Government
“The apportionment of taxes on the various descriptions of property is an act which seems to require the most exact impartiality; yet there is, perhaps, no legislative act in which greater opportunity and temptation are given to a predominant party to trample on the rules of justice.”
~ James Madison
Reduce Taxes
Your money represents the value you contribute to the workforce. Wasteful government spending steals the hard earned wages you can use to better your family and loved ones. For far too long, our elected officials have taken your tax dollars for granted. I will work to limit government and will never forget that without the hard work and the consent of the citizens, there is no government. When I am county judge I will do everything I can to reduce your tax burden, remembering that it's YOUR hard earned dollars the county spends.

Reduce Wasteful Spending
Our government cannot treat you, the citizen, as a piggy bank to fund undeserved pay raises, politician’s pet projects, and pork and kickbacks that represent the worst examples of crony capitalism. Just as such pork and corruption motivated Donald Trump to run for President, I was motivated to run for County Judge as a small businessman and financial planner to put an end to wasteful spending and corruption in our County. While some politicians run for power and pay, those are not my motives. As the mayor of Red Oak, I worked for the betterment of the people and received no pay at all. Above all, I pride myself on being a public servant who considers first the needs of others. When I am County Judge I will encourage all of our County employees to understand their roles as sacrificial servants.
Budget Efficiency Within Departments
Decisions about which funding of county departments should be made based on the value they bring to the citizens of Ellis County. As our County grows, county services need to expand, but only those services that make our citizen’s lives better. I believe in budgeting according to this simple principle and am not scared to propose cuts to spending that does not bring value to you, even if that is an unpopular decision with some. I will serve you the people of Ellis County, not an elite political establishment.
Grow our County Responsibly
Growth brings jobs, services, retail convenience, healthcare, and many other benefits. If the citizens of our County are to thrive, we need growth, but the growth that comes to our county must be responsibly managed. As mayor of Red Oak I brought growth to the City, but also put implemented policy that continued to make the city a desirable place for all people to live. I will take the same approach as County Judge and lead Ellis County through our next phase of growth, while maintaining the rural tight-knit feel that we all love.

As your County Judge, I promise to
-
Support Fair Property Tax Appraisal Review
-
Reduce wasteful spending
-
budget efficiency within departments
-
Encourage responsible growth
Conservative Values
“I'm a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.”
~ Mike Pence
Pro Life
I am extremely proud that the majority of Ellis County citizens support the most vulnerable in our society by believing in the right of every baby to have a chance at life. It is very important that Ellis County has politicians that represent their pro-life values. I have always, and will continue to always do everything I can to protect the unborn. This is one of my core convictions.
Less Government Intervention

"The equal rights of man and the happiness of every individual are now acknowledged to be the only legitimate objects of government."
~ Thomas Jefferson
The only thing that hurts our country more than wasteful spending is irresponsible regulations placed on individuals and businesses. The only job of government should be to protect each individual’s rights from those who might deprive them of those rights, and to prosper each individual. We must respect the rights of individuals and businesses to function without unneeded government bureaucracy. As County judge I will always fight for an increase in individual liberty by cutting red tape and unneeded regulations.

Property Owner Rights

“The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.”
~ John Adams
One of the main reasons our founders decided to revolt was England’s lack of respect for property rights. We must never forget that everything an individual owns, including property, is a representation of the value they have built in the world through their own labor. Your property was bought through blood, sweat, and tears, and the county has no right to impose undue burdens on your ownership and personal decisions about that property. With that understanding, I will always respect and fight for property owner’s rights as county judge.
Education Options

"It is the duty of parents to maintain their children decently, and according to their circumstances; to protect them according to the dictates of prudence; and to educate them according to the suggestions of a judicious and zealous regard for their usefulness, their respectability and happiness."
~ James Wilson
Public ISD’s, charter schools, home school, private schools, trade schools, technical colleges and other higher education options do amazing things for the youth in our county! Each of these options serve different children’s needs in our county, and it is important that government never impede a parents ability to choose which education choice is the right path for their child.
As County Judge, I promise to
-
Support Pro-Life initiatives
-
Reduce county government intervention in your life and your business
-
Respect and protect your property rights
-
Improve firearm protections in the county
-
Support educational options
